Ceramic Coating
in Farmington Hills, MI
Ceramic coating for Farmington Hills, about 20 minutes from our Plymouth shop. Long-lasting gloss and protection that makes a car easier to own.
Keep it looking like delivery day.
For a busy Farmington Hills household, the best thing about a ceramic coating is time. Coated paint does not hold dirt the way bare clear coat does, so a wash takes half the effort and the car looks cleaner in between. That matters when it sits in an open office lot off 12 Mile all day collecting dust, sap and bird droppings, all of which a coating keeps from etching into the finish. New cars are the ideal candidates because the paint needs little correction first. If you plan to sell or trade in a few years, glossy, unfaded paint is the first thing a buyer or appraiser sees.
“I recommend all my friends and family to Imperial Auto Films. The best customer service around paired with true quality work, and fairly priced. Would give more stars if I could.”
“Excellent work, excellent customer service, and a great price for ceramic tints. Moody is the man for all-around cosmetic work. Will be back with my next car.”
“I got my car tinted and PPF here. An absolutely incredible job. Moody was prompt with updates and the quality speaks for itself. All my edges are tucked and the tint goes right to the edge. Never knew you could do that.”

Prep first, then the coating.
Ceramic coating is a liquid nano-ceramic that bonds to your clear coat and cures into a hard, slick, glass-like layer. Water and grime bead up and sheet off, washing takes a fraction of the effort, and the paint keeps a deep gloss while being shielded from UV fade, bird droppings, tree sap and road salt. We start with a decontamination wash and clay bar, do a light paint correction where the paint needs it, then apply the coating by hand, panel by panel, and let it cure indoors. It is protection measured in years, not the weeks you get from wax.
Ceramic Coating FAQ.
Will road salt hurt the coating?
Road salt is one of the reasons to get one. A coated car resists salt and brine far better than bare clear coat, and winter grime rinses off instead of baking on. Rinsing the car regularly through winter still helps.
Can ceramic coating go over PPF or a wrap?
Yes. Coating over paint protection film is a common pairing, and it makes the film easier to clean. If your car is wrapped or has film on it, tell us and we will recommend what suits that surface.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
A professionally applied coating is measured in years, not the weeks or months you get from wax or a spray sealant. How long depends on how the car is washed and stored, and we will tell you what to expect for yours.
