City driving is rough on a Cybertruck in ways the brochure skips. Construction zones throw gravel, parking structures have tight turns and concrete pillars, and street parking in Corktown or Midtown means door dings and strangers leaning on the truck. On bare stainless every one of those leaves a mark you cannot polish away. Then winter comes, and Tesla's manual says road salt should come off the steel right away, which nobody manages on a January commute. Full-body PPF handles the dings, the scuffs and the salt, and a ceramic coating on top makes the whole truck rinse clean. If you want to stand out downtown, a color-change wrap does that too.

Why put PPF on a truck with no paint?
Because there is no clear coat to polish a scratch out of. A key mark, a scuff from a pillar or a stone hit on bare stainless is in the metal itself. PPF takes those hits instead, and light marks in the film heal with heat.
Wrap or PPF, which should I get?
If you like the stainless look, get clear PPF, it keeps the look and protects it. If you want a different color, get a vinyl wrap. If you want color and maximum protection, colored or satin PPF is the route Tesla itself took for its own Cybertruck wraps.
Can it come off later?
Yes. Both vinyl wraps and PPF are designed to come off cleanly, which is why owners use them on trucks they plan to sell or trade. The steel underneath is exactly as it was when the film went on.
